About Us

Truk was born out of a ruined Friday night. Our founder — an older millennial who grew up building PCs, modding games, and treating every problem like it had an API — showed up at a brewery expecting a taco truck that never came. The venue thought the truck was confirmed. The truck thought they'd been cancelled. Nobody communicated, and what should've been a great evening turned into a parking lot full of confused, hungry people.

That kind of thing kept happening. Venues and food truck vendors were flying blind — schedules shared over text threads, bookings lost in email chains, no way for customers to know what was actually showing up and when. For someone who spent his career wrangling distributed systems, watching this coordination collapse in real life was personally offensive.

After roughly a decade of saying "somebody should build this," he finally opened a terminal and started typing. Truk is the result — a platform that gives vendors real tools to manage their business, gives venues a reliable way to book and communicate with trucks, and gives the rest of us a way to find out where the good food is tonight.

We're a small team, bootstrapped, and building in the open from Raleigh, NC. If you're into street food, local breweries, or just want to know where the birria truck is parked this weekend — we're building this for you.
